Benjamin Schostakowski is an award-winning Director from Brisbane, QLD who lives in Sydney, NSW.
In 2017 Benjamin was awarded the Glorias Fellowship and flew to New York to learn from Tony-Award winning director Des McAnuff (Jersey Boys) on the workshopping of a new Broadway musical and iconoclast director Robert Lepage on his production of 887 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
In 2016, Benjamin worked with Channel 7 as a Directing Attachment on the TV series A Place to Call Home, Season 4.
In late 2015, Benjamin was invited to attended rehearsals at the New York Theatre Workshop on the world première of the musical Lazarus by David Bowie and Enda Walsh, directed by internationally renowned director Ivo van Hove.
In his career, Benjamin has worked with Queensland Theatre Company, Melbourne Theatre Company, La Boite Theatre Company, Opera Queensland, Brisbane Festival, Channel 7, NIDA, QUT, Griffin Theatre Play Project and Triple J Unearthed. He worked as Artistic Director on the Festival of Australian Student Theatre from 2009 -2012 and in 2011 Benjamin was appointed an Associate Artist with Queensland Theatre Company under the Artistic Direction of Wesley Enoch.
He received two Matilda Awards for his production A Tribute of Sorts that he directed for La Boite Indie and later remounted at Queensland Theatre Company.

For NIDA: Klutz, Fireface, 12 Angry Men, June 20, 30, 40 - Griffin Play Project, A Respectable Wedding with the National Theatre Drama School and The Bear with the Actors Centre Australia. Benjamin also directed the music video clip for Ride For Me by Ry for Triple J Unearthed.
Benjamin graduated from QUT Drama in 2012 and from NIDA Directing in 2013.
