Benjamin Schostakowski is an award-winning director working across screen, events, theatre and opera. Known for his compelling cinematic visual style and innovative use of technology old and new, he has collaborated with Opera Australia, Melbourne Theatre Company, Queensland Theatre, Opera Queensland, Brisbane Festival, Foxtel and Channel 7. Recent projects include directing a narrative music video for a leading Australian band debuting in November 2026. He also directed productions of La Voix Humaine and Britten's Tenor for Opera Australia. He appeared in Origin Energy's major brand platform “All Kinds of Useful”, launched in March 2025 in collaboration with creative agency Special Australia. A graduate of NIDA's directing program, Benjamin's work bridges the worlds of screen and performance, with a focus on bold visual storytelling and contemporary forms of narrative.
